First off, we need to discuss about the game rules for Texas Holdem, the variation that has been the most popular around the world in the most recent years.

Generally, game rules for Texas Holdem are just simple. They go as follows:

To start the game, a starting pot must be created. Most likely, the first two players to the left of the dealer must post a small and a big blind respectively. Then game is started and two cards facing down must be dealt to each player. The cards are called the hole cards.

After the hole cards are dealt to each player, first betting round must take place beginning with the player to the left of the big blind.

Then after the first betting round, three from the five cards must be dealt facing up on the table. The three from the five cards are called the flop. The five cards being referred to are the so-called community cards which can help make a five card poker hand. It’s all up to the players, they can use all community cards or else just make use of some of them together with the hole card/s.

Subsequently, second betting round must take place beginning with the first player to the left of the dealer but this time must still be in the hand.

Then after the second betting round, the fourth from the community cards must be dealt. It is called the turn.

After which, third betting round must take place still beginning with the first player to the left of the dealer who must still be in the hand.

Then after the second betting round, the fifth and the last from the community cards must be dealt. It is called the river.

Afterwards, fourth and last betting round must take place still beginning with the first player to the left of the dealer who must still be in the hand. This point, if more than one player remains in the hand, showdown must take place.

Nevertheless, player with the best five card hand wins.
