Being Acquainted With Some of the Terms at Bwin

There are terms at Bwin that you must be acquainted with. These terms are a part of the long list of terms used in poker games however they appear to be more apparent than the others. They are more often used in poker games.

The terms include:

  • Action – often refers to betting.
  • Ante – amount of money placed in the pot by every player in Stud and Draw games.
  • Bankroll – amount of money intended for playing poker.
  • Big Blind – is equal to the amount of the smaller betting limit in a game and should be posted by the player two seats to the button’s left.
  • Blind – considered as forced bets and should be made by the first two players in the button’s front.
  • Bluff – normally to deceive opponents about the strength of hand currently being played.
  • Button – acts as last, a virtual dealer marker.
  • Call – to match up a bet.
  • Check – to refuse to bet.
  • Community cards – are the five cards on the board.
  • Fifth Street – refers to the fifth community card dealt in Texas Holdem and Omaha.
  • Fish – players who can be beaten easily.
  • Flop – refers to the first three community cards dealt in Texas Holdem and Omaha.
  • Fold – to withdraw from a hand.
  • Fourth Street – refers to the fourth community card dealt in Texas Holdem and Omaha.
  • Freeroll – known as a tournament that is free to enter. .
  • Heads-up – one-on-one game.
  • Hole cards – cards that are dealt facing down and typically the starting hand.
  • Limping – to call the big blind in pre-flop action.
  • Outs – total number of possibilities a player has to win the pot.
  • Pot – money that players still remaining in the hand contest for.
  • Pre-flop – refers to the betting round prior to the flop.
  • River – also refers to the fifth and last community card dealt in Texas Holdem and Omaha.
  • Showdown – happens after the last betting round which required players who are still in the pot to show off cards to reveal the winner.
  • Small Blind – is equal to one half of the smaller betting limit in a game and should be posted by the player seated to the button’s left.
  • Tells – gestures, behavior or facial expression of a player about current hand or strategies.
  • Tilt – to go mad while on play.
  • Turn – also refers to the fourth community card dealt in Texas Holdem and Omaha.

Of course, there are some other terms provided at Bwin however the ones mentioned above are used more often in poker games.
