“Grand Salami” or NHL and Penalties Awarded in a Period

NHL HockeyThere are bets that have something to do with “Grand Salami” or NHL. These bets are indeed significant and so rules just about them were formulated.

Well the said bets actually refer to the total number of goals scored over all the matches successfully played on a given day. Some games will be played on such day and only these games will account. But it is worth mentioning that NHL schedule must be followed.

There will be games that will be postponed or be added to the schedule after the initial odds are posted. If if ever there will be any games, all of the bets at hand should be considered as void. And there will also games that will be abandoned during the play. With this, all of the bets will most likely be considered as void as well.

Of course there will also be penalties to be awarded in a certain period. In this regard, we must mention that there are rules to be considered. Say in Xth period, there will be penalties to be awarded. But it is unknown if it will be 2-minute penalties or else 5-minute penalties and how many of these penalties should be awarded. Good thing such rules are made to give answer to all of these.

Each 2-minute or 5-minute penalty actually counts as 1 therefore in case 3 x 2-minute penalties are awarded in Xth period, the best option will be “Under 3.5”. But in case 2 + 2-minute penalty is awarded in Xth period, it counts as 2 x 2 minutes. This implies that in case 1 x 5-minute, 1 x 2-minute and 2 + 2-minute penalties are awarded, then the best option will be “Over 3.5”.

Also it is notable that all of the penalties awarded prior to the start of a period are counted for the previous period, thus in case a 2-minute penalty is awarded in the 1st intermission it is counted for the 1st period.
